Hello! It’s Chriiiiiistmas. And I’m not sure who is more excited, me or my troops. Ok it’s me, but they’re pretty hysterically excited too. This is my time of year. This is when I come into my own. Je suis Christmas. Bring on the fairy lights and decorations. No, more, lots more. Bring on the Christmas movies and treats. Bring on the Christmas jumpers, sequins, and car antlers and red noses. And to answer your question – no I have no shame or cringe limits (just ask my teenagers). Bring on the Christmas songs, on repeat – and take down the karaoke machine from the attic while you’re at it. Ya know, because who doesn’t love to hear their neighbours belting out a bit of Mariah or The Pogues on random occasions from the first of November. But also bring on the downtime, after the chaos. When there’s no more to be done, but enjoy the season and all it has to offer. Bring on that precious time with family and friends, especially those we don’t see nearly often enough throughout the year. And after a very long year, that really just whizzed by, bring on perspective, hope, fun and kindness.
