Our broccoli grower’s the best in his field. Paul Brophy Aldi’s broccoli supplier “Broccoli’s notoriously difficult to please” says Paul Brophy, Aldi’s broccoli supplier. “In fact, it’s a bit of a Diva – doesn’t like it too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry. Quite a challenge in the Irish climate!”
Paul’s farm has been supplying Aldi since 2009, but his own interest in growing goes back much further. “When I was 12 my teacher gave me some carrot, sprout and parsley seeds and Mum and Dad found me a small plot in the garden to grow them in.
The following year I had a glasshouse as my Christmas present, I was so hooked on cultivating produce that tasted so good. “Almost 40 years later I still love the challenge.”

Supporting producers in every corner of Ireland. Paul’s just one of the many farmers, growers and suppliers we work with across Ireland. In fact, we’re so committed to supporting them that over 50% of all our products are sourced from approved Bord Bia Farms. This makes Aldi one of the biggest suppliers of Bord Bia approved produce.
