“I am the fourth generation of Maguire to walk these fields. We have always had poultry here,” says Edward Maguire. “We have produced eggs, chicken and turkey on this farm since 1951. The sight of the turkeys running around the field on a frosty morning always puts a smile on my face. They are cared for not only by me, but by my family too. Producing birds of this quality gives us a chance to do something special once a year, to produce the star of the Christmas dinner. It’s a journey that starts in August. They need that time to be at their best for Christmas. They are free ranging with access to their fields from dawn until dusk, seven days a week and enjoy picking through the leaf litter under the mature Ash trees in their field.
