Daniel Hickey has worked with his parents on Skeaghanore Farm since he was a boy. This, he says, is an extraordinary place. “There is something special about our geese grazing their fields,” he begins. “The weather is starting to get cold but still sunny during the day. It really is picturesque and quite satisfying to sit and take in the beauty of the landscape. We are only a stone’s throw from the sea. The field is like a sea of white and green, which overlooks Roaring Water Bay and stately Kilcoe Castle. It’s also the secret to producing award-winning geese. And we believe the sea air adds a unique flavour to our geese you may not get anywhere else.”
